Alek

So I finished the new story's first chapter. There may not be another chapter. It was rough to write. I nearly abandoned it a few times. I'm not sure how it will be received, but look for Captive Alek soon. I submitted it this morning.

Now I'm going to go back to Tare's story and do a new chapter. We went for a run today at the park and we passed a ton of beautiful guys pealing off their shirts for the rare warmth. I started to take mine off to get some sun, but the man doesn't like me doing that in public places...

Music!

What kind of music do you listen to when you write? I will plug headphones into my laptop and blast out some good music. My current obsession is this one:

What are your favorites? When I really need distraction free writing like for school stuff, I tune up the Whisperings station in Itunes. It's quiet piano music without commercials or lyrics or talking. It's good focus music. Otherwise I like the Alice station from San Francisco when I'm working on a dirty sex scene.

So anyways, I have a few hours to work on the next chapter of Tare's adventures before we have people start showing up for our NYE party.

Some of the best...

I've read authoritarian stories since I was 14 and an older guy online sent me a link to a story on nifty. I don't remember what it was but it led me to this giant library of a world I'd never really thought of.

Two years ago, I stumbled across the Bred Slave series

The storyline of a boy coming from two parents who are slaves was an interesting concept. More than that, the characters seem real. The author doesn't waste a lot of time spelling out their heights, weights, likes, dislikes, no personal ad writing. The characterization is done through continuity in the 17 chapter story line. The characters react the same in chapter 1 or 2 as they would in the final chapters, unless there has been something to explain their shift in character. It's really well done.

The author publishes a new chapter every six months or so. It's always a schedule clearer when I see one pop up.

Though sadly, he's never responded to any email I've sent him. But maybe that just adds to his appeal...

What are your favorites?

Thursday

So far, I have up the Clayton's Acquisition stories on nifty. There are 7 chapters up.

I'm working on a new series that should be up soon. It's this idea I've started to write before about an undocumented immigrant who gets separated from his family and runs into guys who adopt and take him over. We'll see how it turns out. It's an interesting dynamic with the language barrier and lends easily to complete domination.

In this case, it's a 16 yr old boy who comes from Eastern Europe with his brother on a smuggler's boat. The brother gets free to go raise money to get him out but the boy escapes after one of the other captives is killed. He runs into guys who clean him up and well... things happen.

I will be working on chapter 8 of clayton's acquisition soon. I just need to give Tare a break for a little bit. I've gotten really great ideas on where to take the story. But we'll see how my other story is received.

Thanks for reading,
CJ
